I added something here, then reconsidered. If you click the edit page you can see my comments. I'm not sure if thery're in the right place, or whether a new page should be created for other theories that could be considered plasma cosmologies. Thoughts? greg 02:31, 21 August 2008 (BST)

I certainly think that lerners "uncensored version"[1] of plasma cosmology deserves a place on this site somewhere (with some editing), but to do this we need to make clearer the difference between the original plasma cosmology of Alfven, other various plasma cosmology based theories, and plasma cosmology as a framework (why a cosmology should be considered a plasma cosmology). Maybe a page called Plasma cosmolgy framework, about the common factors plasma cosmology theories have (a good guide would be some of the points in the overview section of Lerners article for example[2], then for this current page Alfven plasma cosmology, and one for Lerner and Peratts plasma cosmology, then maybe a page for Plasma Redshift based Plasma cosmology, CREIL type plasma cosmology, etc. But this is all more my POV of PC than definitive, so want to ask before making any changes. Maybe they could all be added to this page under different headings, as long as we clarify they are not all 100% consistent models, but share a common thread. Suggestions?greg 02:25, 21 August 2008 (BST)

  • Yes, it's a tricky one, as we need to distinguish between "Plasma Universe" and "Plasma Cosmology", and since this is what defines the site, make it clear too. I think I've tried to take the approach of describing an overview, rather than the details which Lerner provides. The latter was a necessity on Wikipedia where there was no option to add "plasma universe" explanations of various aspects of astrophysical phenomenon, whereas on this site, we can have a separate article on Quasars and Light elements abundance, etc.
  • It also didn't help that Alfvén applied the Plasma Universe to Klein's work on an anti-matter universe, leading to the incorrect assumption that Klein-Alfvén Cosmology was a precursor to Plasma Cosmology.
  • So I think I'd like to see this page more about the history and development of Plasma Cosmology, with separate articles on the detail. This will help make this page more of a launch-pad to more detailed aspects of the Plasma Universe. --Ian Tresman 22:44, 27 August 2008 (BST)
